Frequently Asked Questions

What Mac do I need to run Shot Clock Pro+?
Shot Clock Pro+ is a native macOS application. It requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later. Any modern Mac — including Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and recent Intel models — will run it smoothly.
How do I show the shot clock inside OBS?
Shot Clock Pro+ runs a local web server on your Mac. In OBS, add a Browser Source and point it to the address shown in the app (e.g. http://localhost:8080/overlay). Choose your preferred style — large digits, circular timer, or progress bar — and it appears live in your stream layout.
Can I use an external monitor for the player display?
Yes. Connect a second display via HDMI or DisplayPort and Shot Clock Pro+ can show a dedicated full-screen player display on it, while you control the timer on your main Mac screen.
How does CueScore import work?
The app can fetch player names directly from a running CueScore match on your local network, so you do not have to type names manually. You can also enter names by hand when CueScore is not used.
Does the app work without the internet?
Yes. Shot Clock Pro+ operates entirely on your local network. No internet connection is required for the timer, the OBS overlay or the player display. The only time a network connection might help is if you pull player data from a cloud-hosted CueScore account, which is optional.
What display styles are available for streaming overlays?
Three styles are included: a large numeric countdown, a circular countdown ring, and a horizontal progress bar. All styles also show extension indicators so viewers can track how many extensions each player has remaining.
Is there a user manual?
The application is designed to be intuitive for tournament referees and organisers without a manual. If you have a specific question, use the contact link below — we are happy to help.
